=OG= Code of Conduct
1) Conduct yourself accordingly on the servers:
When you play on the =OG= servers, you are expected, as are all players, to conduct yourself with honor. Profanity and harassing of other players is NEVER appropriate for any player on the =OG= servers, but is ESPECIALLY inappropriate for =OG= members. Remember, when you are on the =OG= servers, your behavior reflects on both you and the =OG=. Inappropriate behavior spoils the playing environment for others and also reflects negatively on our group. We must strive to have the highest standards on the servers. Doing so will reflect credit on both yourself and the OutlawGamers and will also ensure that new players enjoy their time on the servers...and that is a HUGE goal for the =OG=. New players are the lifeblood of our group. NEVER treat new players as "noobz". This policy also extends to how you interact with others on Vent and in the forums.
2) Help the =OG= ensure that other players also act accordingly:
You are not an Server Admin. That said, you are the eyes and ears of the =OG= when they are not on the server. If you note a player using profanity or harassing other players, politely ask them to stop. A simple typed message reading "Please watch your language...thanks" will do wonders. 99% of the time the player will apologize and cease. A rude message often yields far less success and also reflects negatively on the OutlawGamers. In the exceptional case when a player refuses to abide by the server policies, do NOT threaten further action. You are not an Admin and have no right to kick or ban players, nor should you threaten such action. Instead, decide if the event is severe enough to warrant Admin intervention and, if so, exit the game and attempt to contact an Admin via Vent, forum PM, or instant messaging. Admin contacts are listed in the forums. Screen shots can also be helpful for the Admins, but do not post such screenshots on the forums. You can offer them to an Admin and they will request them if needed. In such a case, you can send them via PM or email.
3) Accept that people play with different styles:
Camping is not cheating. Sniping is not cowardly. Running and gunning is not stupid. These are all valid styles of play. Different players enjoy playing the game in different styles and the =OG= support that position. Learn to play on a battlefield that reflects a wide variety of styles (not unlike actual combat) and you may find that you actually enjoy the game more. You'll certainly lower your stress level, because these folks aren't changing their preferred style to suit you.
4) Never cheat or attempt to use map exploits:
Cheating is NEVER allowable by ANY player on the =OG= servers. Any member caught cheating will be immediately removed from the group, banned from the servers, and added to the Punkbuster database of known cheaters. Using a map exploit shall be viewed in the same light. If you find yourself inadvertently underneath a map, do NOT attempt to exploit this defect. Instead, create a screen shot and notify an Admin about the map problem. There is no honor in cheating and the OutlawGamers will NOT tolerate such behavior. There is no second chance. You will not receive a warning. This is the warning.
5) Never accuse other players of cheating while playing:
Do not accuse others of cheating in Vent or via in-game typed messages. Accept that some players are just good or that your bullets may have actually missed. While some do cheat, most who are suspected of cheating are not actually cheating. We all grumble every now and again when we are continually falling victim to one specific player, but leave it at that - a temporary lack of sportsmanship on your part, which we all understand. All players are considered innocent until it is PROVEN that they are cheating. If you suspect someone of cheating, gather evidence and then provide it to an Admin. You must also provide a screenshot that demonstrates that they are cheating. Spectating a player is one way to detect cheating by a suspected player, but do not do so unless you have a good reason to believe that they are in fact cheating. If you do manage to gather such evidence, do NOT inform the player in the game and do NOT post the screen shot in the forums. Contact an =OG= Server Admin directly and provide them with this information. The Admin will then handle matters.
6) Auto-balance when joining servers:
All =OG= members, as well as visiting players are encouraged to use the AutoAssign option when joining a server. Stacking teams hurts game play and spoils the playing environment for new players. While many players favor a particular weapon, learn to use the weapons available from both the Allies and the Axis. Doing so will also help you in our matches, where you must play as each side. If you see the sides are un-even and auto balance isn't taking care of it, change teams and try to make them more even. Other players will notice and this sets a good example for younger players.
7) Recruiting:
Recruiting of other players on our servers by our members is allowed. We do not allow other players/clans to recruit on our servers. Do not go to other servers or clan sites and recruit players......This activity is disrespectful and will most certainly generate a complaint from that group. If a complaint is received and substantiated, disciplinary action will be taken.
8) Follow Vent channel guidance:
The OutlawGamers provide numerous Vent channels for different purposes. Join the appropriate channel and then conduct yourself accordingly. Profanity is barred from all channels except the "18+ R Rated" channel. That said, we all forget from time-to-time which channel we are in so politely remind others if they use such language while in another channel. If you are the type of person that must control the conversation, do it somewhere else. Everyone must make an attempt to be considerate of other people in the channels. Don't interrupt other peoples conversations. If you and others are playing and some aren't, get your group and move to another channel. Thats why we have them. The "18+ R Rated" channel is restricted to those who are 18 years-old or older so junior members are NOT allowed to participate in this channel. =OG= members are also expected to note if junior members enter this channel and politely ask them to leave. Until the junior member leaves the channel it is no longer R rated.
